Why Signing Up for a Sidemount Diver Course Lembongan?

As you may already be familiar with the standard configuration of having a tank on your back, have you instead heard of sidemount diving? This kind of configuration started as a necessity for advanced cave diving but has been growing in popularity with recreational divers as well.

Usually consisting of mounting two tanks by your side, next to your hips, and below your shoulders. Additionally, you can also mount one tank at your side as well by balancing yourself out with a weigh pouch.

Going to be in the Bali area? Come sign up for our Diver Specialty Sidemount Course in Nusa Lembongan!

Still, need more convincing? Sidemount diving doesn’t just look cool. It has a huge amount of practical benefits compared to backmount diving. Here are some of the great advantages of diving sidemount:

Though you may not be a cave diver, you’ll still be able to access some tight overhead environments you may have not have been able to in the past. You’ll learn to quickly reposition your tanks in front of you to easily zoom through those cramped overhangs and swim-throughs. Luckily, there is a lot of topography like that in Bali. It’s the perfect place for your sidemount course training.

Furthermore, positioning your tanks to your sides can lead to less water resistance. When properly configured, your trim, buoyancy, and air consumption will improve dramatically. Then again, you’ll be able to glide through the water like never before! This should help especially in the currents of Nusa Penida Protected Area.

Sidemount diving is perfect for those who have a bad back. Not having that pressure on your back will allow you to move comfortably- it’s a real game changer! Instead of standing up with a heavy tank on your back, you can enter the water first and simply clip on your two tanks. This is especially beneficial to those who suffer from scoliosis.

In terms of safety, having two tanks means you’ll always have a source of redundancy and you’ll be able to dive for longer as well. Additionally, you’ll be able to easily reach your tank valves as they’ll be in right in front of you. Lastly, the risk of entanglement is also greatly reduced, leading to an overall safer dive.

Padi Advanced Course Lembongan Dive

For you to gain your certification you will need to spend 2 days with Legend Diving Lembongan, if you only have 1 day you can still gain certification for adventure dives – check the Padi Adventure Diver Course. You need to complete 5 Adventure Dives together with the knowledge development questions for each Adventure dive.

There are two mandatory dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, for a total of five dives. In general, the most popular choice for the remaining 3 dives is Drift, Peak Performance Buoyancy, and Fish Identification. Our amazing waters and marine life allow you to get the best out of this specialty dives. However, we do have other options available if requested.

As the most popular one, this dive will take you down below 18 meters and up to 30 meters. There are a few special considerations you must take into account. However, it is not difficult and not unlike more shallow forms of diving. Firstly, you must understand that air consumption rates are faster the deeper you are. Secondly, you must understand the risks of nitrogen narcosis. Some say that it is like feeling intoxicated. You may feel inappropriate euphoria. Besides, research has shown that it affects divers below 20m, though effects are mild until 40m. Your instructor will play a simple game to test its effects. Also, swallowing up will ease its effects.
Having good buoyancy is one of the hallmarks of being a good diver. Furthermore, it is something that most divers struggle within the beginning. All in all, having a dive specifically aimed at improving buoyancy is very important. Most come out of this and say that it is the most useful dive they have ever been on. Your instructor will set up several obstacles for you to navigate through. Furthermore, they will provide special tips that will help you.

You may not always have a guide showing you where to go! Navigating underwater is no easy task, but it can be done with the right training. Learning to use a compass is essential. Overall, the goal is to reach the interest points and then be able to return to the boat or the shore. Excellent navigation will allow you to get the most out of each dive. For sure, you want to utilize every breath of your tank when diving!

Adrenalin and fun! This is a great adventure dive to go on, especially in our waters. We have many spectacular drift dives located in the north of Nusa Penida. As a matter of fact, with training, you will be able to feel comfortable in the current. Buoyancy control is essential, so it goes well with the Peak Performance Buoyancy dive. It is a truly exciting feeling to fly through the currents.

With this adventure dive, you will better understand our underwater world. In the beginning, you are probably not sure about the creatures you see underwater. While, the more you learn and can identify, the better your dives become! You will be amazed at your progress. Besides, there are a lot of special relationships between marine organisms. Being able to notice this will allow you to even better understand the underwater environment.
